How it works

How to use

  1. In the conversion bar, choose From: PDF → To: Markdown
  2. Drop a .pdf file or pick one with the file button
  3. Tidy the text in Preview / Edit (add `#` headings, lists, etc.)
  4. Click Download Markdown to save a .md file

Tips & use cases

When results look wrong

  • Scanned PDFs need OCR (not supported here)
  • Multi-column layouts may shuffle line order
  • Extracted text is not auto-converted to Markdown syntax—add it yourself
  • Always review important content before publishing

FAQ

Is anything uploaded to your server?
PDF parsing runs locally in your browser. We do not upload your document body to convert it (see the Privacy Policy for details).
Will headings and tables become Markdown?
Usually you get **text only**. Add headings, tables, and code fences manually in the editor.
Does Japanese text work?
Embedded Japanese text generally extracts fine, but results depend on how the PDF was produced.
Can I export HTML or PDF afterward?
Yes—switch to **Markdown to HTML** or **Markdown to PDF** on this site after editing.
