Tips & use cases

Make Markdown presentations easier to edit

  • Keep one main idea per slide and move supporting detail into the next section
  • Use H2 headings as natural slide titles and short lists for speaking points
  • Watch for overflow warnings after adding code blocks, tables, or large images
  • Use explicit --- breaks when the automatic structure needs a different rhythm
  • Fine-tune fonts and layout in PowerPoint afterwards—everything stays editable

Markdown to PowerPoint FAQ

Is the PPTX editable, or just images of slides?
Fully editable. Each slide is rebuilt from the Marp document structure, so headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, and code blocks are native PowerPoint objects you can edit.
Can I choose where each slide starts?
Yes. Click blocks in the read-only outline to add or remove slide breaks without directly editing the imported Markdown text.
Do the design themes apply to the PPTX file?
Yes. The theme you pick drives both the Marp preview and the color palette of the exported PPTX, so the downloaded deck matches what you saw.
Are my Markdown files uploaded to a server?
Files you open or paste are processed in your browser for conversion. No account is required. Importing from a public GitHub URL fetches that file only when you request it.
Which PowerPoint versions can open the file?
The output is a standard Office Open XML (.pptx) file that opens in PowerPoint 2016 or later, PowerPoint Online, Keynote, LibreOffice Impress, and Google Slides.
